Hidden Gem Restaurant in Kennebunkport, Maine

Whenever we travel, food always plays a special part in exploring a new area. Whether it comes by way of a unique street food experience or a James Beard award winning restaurant, we make a point to treat our tastebuds to an unforgettable meal that is unique to locals and visitors alike.

Today we are highlighting a hidden gem in Kennebunkport Maine that came highly recommended by several locals. They called it “the best food they had ever eaten” so we had to see what all the hype was about. We looked up the reviews and made a reservation at Earth for the only timeslot they had available the following night. The anticipation and excitement were brewing like a kid waiting for Santa on Christmas eve!

Earth is a farm to table restaurant with food and drinks that are just as unique as the décor. As we walked in, there were several green plants around the entrance and bar area, Edison bulbs stung from the ceiling and circular cross cuts of logs of various sizes that lined the wall above the windows and around the bar giving the feeling of an upscale outdoor dining experience. We sat at a wooden table with a natural finish and solid 6-inch-thick tree branch logs for legs. The décor made us feel like we were eating outdoors and fit the Earth theme perfectly. Earth incorporates ingredients from two organic gardens that they harvest from and infuse into the menu daily. It was by far the best food we have eaten on our 9-month trip across the US. Not only was the food amazing, but the artistic presentation was equally as good. (My mouth is watering just writing about it – so amazing).
